Transforming Lives Through the Gospel – Will You Step Out in Faith?
A Report on Our July Mission to Northern Thailand
Introduction: The Power of Radical Transformation
This July, our mission team witnessed God moving powerfully in Northern Thailand’s mountainous regions. Among drug rehabilitation centres, animist villages, and impoverished communities, we saw the Gospel break chains, transform lives, and plant hope where darkness once reigned. This report shares these miracles and invites you to join what God is doing.
From Addiction to Ministry – Stories of Redemption
At a Drug Rehabilitation Centre (撒母耳之家 – 晨曦戒毒中心), we met 2 pastors who used to be drug users:
Pastor Li’s Journey:
- Began using heroin as a Taiwanese teenager
- Spent nine years in prison for drug offenses
- Multiple failed rehab attempts before encountering Christ at the Thailand centre
- Now serves as a counsellor for female addicts
“Only Jesus’ love could break my 20-year addiction,” she testifies
Pastor Liao’s Testimony:
- Former addict who found freedom through a church-led program
- Established Grace Church in Mae Salong village
- Ministers to recovering addicts and local families
Breaking Spiritual Strongholds in a Hmong Village (輝鬥村)
Our most ground-breaking work is among the Hmong people in this village (pop. 170 families), where animism has reigned for generations.
Strategic Approach:
- Cultural Bridge: Launched as a “Chinese Tutoring Centre” to gain trust
- Divine Favour: Village chief now supports our presence
- First Fruits: First Christian couple baptized this year
Children’s Ministry Breakthrough:
- 100+ children enrolled (exceeding all expectations)
- 65 attended our special Gospel program
- Interactive Bible teaching through art and songs
Critical Need: Our three-year lease expires soon. Pray that we can secure the lease & keep this place as a permanent location.
Training the Next Generation at a Mission Centre (天恩宣教中心)
The Mission Centre rescues ethnic minority youth from:
✔ Poverty ✔ Illiteracy ✔ Trafficking risk
Holistic Ministry Model:

Every gift – big or small – makes an eternal difference!
CCMA’s mission in northern Thailand, near the Cambodian border, began in 2023. We send short-term mission (STM) teams and provide financial support to the local church pastors. Additionally, we subsidize the ministries of the Children’s Home and a Chinese tutoring school.
The Children’s Home accommodates 285 children from extremely poor families. These children not only receive primary education but also attend after-school Chinese tutoring, which significantly enhances their future job prospects.
Since July 2024, CCMA has funded a local pastor and established a gospel outreach centre in a small Hmong village (輝鬥苗族村佈道所). This initiative has been warmly welcomed by the village chief and residents. On December 23, 2024, over 700 villagers attended the Christmas celebration night. Furthermore, a Chinese tutoring school in the village is set to launch soon, with 99 children already enrolled.
In July 2024, a short-term mission team also visited southern Thailand to learn more about student outreach ministries. They visited Daniel International School (DIS), a newly established Christian primary and secondary school founded by a CCMI missionary couple. The school provides a Christian environment that stands in contrast to the predominantly Buddhist culture of the country. The team also visited a local university and met with young leaders involved in outreach ministries.
CCMA will send two STM teams in July 2025:
- The South Team is recruiting young STM members to assist with a children’s summer camp at DIS and engage in outreach efforts with university students.
- The North Team will support the local church and gospel centre in their children’s ministries and outreach programs.
